Since the beginning of the Russian attacks in Ukraine in February 2022, which constituted a flagrant violation of the prohibition against the use of force (article 2(4) of the Charter of the United Nations), could it be suggested that international legal norms are ineffective? Would the arguments that question the nature of International Law make a comeback? This article aims to answer both questions and demonstrate that it would be a mistake to ignore the existence of International Law or to insinuate that the international legal system is ineffective.Con el inicio de las acciones bélicas rusas en Ucrania, en febrero de 2022, que configuró una flagrante vulneración al principio de la abstención del uso de la fuerza (artículo 2(4) de la Carta de las Naciones Unidas), ¿se podría insinuar que las normas jurídicas internacionales son ineficaces? ¿podrían resurgir los argumentos que cuestionan la naturaleza del Derecho Internacional? El presente artículo tiene por finalidad responder a ambas preguntas y demostrar que sería una equivocación desconocer la existencia del Derecho Internacional o sugerir que el ordenamiento jurídico internacional es ineficaz.
