The modern Mexican legal system was born on June 11, 2011, when the constitutional reform on human rights came into effect. Our legal system must now confront a new national legal paradigm conformed by Mexico’s constitution and human rights. It falls upon Mexico’s legal forum —society and government, i. e., the State— to realize such novel paradigm amidst the multiple paths it offers. It is not enough for the constitution to harbor these rights. They must become a reality.El moderno sistema jurídico mexicano nació el 11 de junio de 2011, fecha en que entró en vigor la reforma constitucional en materia de derechos humanos. Nuestro sistema jurídico tiene ahora que enfrentar un nuevo paradigma jurídico nacional integrado por la constitución política y los derechos humanos. Toca al foro mexicano —sociedad y gobierno, es decir, la totalidad del Estado— hacer realidad dicho paradigma en medio de las múltiples avenidas que ofrece. No basta que el texto constitucional exprese estos derechos. Es menester hacerlos realidad.
