During the thirty years of MERCOSUR, the bloc and its members have gone through different stages in relation to investor-State dispute settlement regime, from fragmentation to the construction of regional regulations. The current legitimacy crisis of the regime is challenged by the covid-19 syndemic, with criticisms and actions originating from both the Global South and the Global North. Considering the above, this piece aims to answer the following guiding questions: 1) What is the situation map of MERCOSUR members regarding the investor-State dispute settlement regime?; 2) What path of regional construction has the bloc travelled? Is the Investment Cooperation and Facilitation Protocol a turning point?; 3) What options should a new roadmap include in times of covid-19 syndemic?Durante los treinta años del MERCOSUR, el bloque y sus miembros han atravesado diferentes etapas en relación con el régimen de solución de controversias inversor-Estado, desde la fragmentación a la construcción de normas regionales. La actual crisis de legitimidad del régimen es interpelada por la sindemia por covid-19, con críticas y acciones que se originan tanto en el Sur Global como el Norte Global. A la luz de lo anterior, esta pieza busca contestar a las siguientes preguntas guía: 1) ¿Cuál es el mapa de situación de los miembros del MERCOSUR en torno al régimen de solución de controversias inversor-Estado?; 2) ¿Qué camino de construcción regional ha recorrido el bloque? ¿Constituye el Protocolo de Cooperación y Facilitación de Inversiones un punto de inflexión?; 3) ¿Qué opciones debería incluir una nueva hoja de ruta en tiempos de covid-19?
