In this article, the author performs an extensive and complete analysis of franchising and how they are an effective tool for the development of a brand. It also presents the most relevant concepts of the franchise, the subjects that in it and their main actors and characteristics. Finally, by means of a balance between the successes and the failures of franchises in the Peru, concludes the article highlighting its importance in the world business.En el presente artículo, la autora realiza un extenso y completo análisis sobre las franquicias y cómo estas constituyen instrumento eficaz para el desarrollo de una marca. Asimismo, presenta los conceptos más relevantes del contrato de franquicia, los sujetos que en él intervienen y sus principales características. Finalmente, mediante un balance entre los éxitos y los fracasos de las franquicias en el Perú, concluye el artículo destacando su importancia en el mundo empresarial.
