By means of this paper, the author perfroms an analysis of the content of the right to freedom of conscience, with a special emphasis on phenomenon of conscientious objection. He begins by discussing the origins of this right in the context of humanity’s history and its consolidation over the years. He then goes to analyse in depth the contents of this right from our constitutional text and doctrine; to land on the issue of the consciousness’ objection and the difference between the right to freedom of conscience and religious’ freedom.Por medio del presente artículo, el autor realiza un análisis del contenido del derecho a la libertad de conciencia, haciendo un especial énfasis en el fenómeno de la objeción de conciencia. Empieza tratando los orígenes de este derecho en el contexto de la historia de la humanidad y su consolidación a lo largo de los años. En seguida, pasa a analizar en profundidad el contenido del mismo a partir de nuestro texto constitucional y la doctrina; para así aterrizar en el tema de la objeción de conciencia y la diferencia entre la libertad de conciencia y la libertad religiosa.
