According to official figures, in Mexico there is a clear reluctance to accept that minors are entitled to the rights already contained in the Constitution and laws. This explains, in large part, why the recognition and guarantee of the rights of children is not even a visible issue in the public agenda. However, with the historic constitutional reform on human rights approved in June this year, the issue becomes more important. This article attempts to provide some key interpretations of the revolutionary reform on human rights, and also argues that the difficulties in recognizing the rights of children and adolescents present new challenges around the legal framework for the adequate protection of the rights of this vulnerable group in Mexico.De acuerdo a cifras oficiales, en México existe una clara resistencia para aceptar que las personas menores de edad son titulares de los derechos que ya están contemplados en la Constitución y las leyes. Este hecho explica, en buena medida, porque el reconocimiento y garantía de los derechos de las niñas, niños y adolescentes no es siquiera un tema visible en la agenda pública. No obstante, con la histórica reforma cons­titucional en materia de derechos humanos de junio de este año, el tema adquiere una mayor relevancia. Este artículo tiene como objetivo proponer algunas claves de interpretación sobre la revolucionaria reforma en materia de derechos humanos, y sostiene, asimismo, que las dificultades en el reconocimiento de los derechos de niñas, niños y adolescentes plantean nuevos retos en torno al marco jurídico para la adecuada protección de los derechos de este grupo en condición de vulnerabilidad en México.
