The seemingly natural idea that all human beings have human rights has been challengedby James Griffin inhis recent book On Human Rights. This article criticizes Griffin’s main arguments in favour of that challenge, claiming them to be inconsistent with things he wishes to say about people with certain discapacities; it also tentatively suggests that certain general truths about rights might nonetheless favour the kind of challenge in question.En su reciente Iibro On Human Rights, James Griffin pone en tela de juicio la idea aparentemente natural de que todos los seres humanos tienen derechos humanos. Este artículo critica los principales argumentos de Griffin en favor de ese cuestionamiento, y afirma que son inconsistentes con otras cosas que él desea decir acerca de personas que sufren ciertas discapacidades; este articulo también sugiere, tentativamente, que ciertas verdades generales en torno a los derechos podrían favorecer, no obstante, ese tipo de cuestionamiento.
