This text reflects on the need to address the ethical challenges posed by the scientific and technical advances that are taking place in the beginning of the XXI century. It focuses on transhumanism and its approaches and proposals, differentiating three trends. It analyzes their social ethics proposals and compares them with the Human Rights approach. It also analyzes the pros and cons of Human Rights System as a reference universal ethical, and compares the proposals of transhumanism with Sustainable Development Goals, proposed by the UN at the beginning of 2016. doi: http://dx.doi.org/10.20318/universitas.2016.3175Este texto reflexiona sobre la necesidad de afrontar los retos éticos que plantean los avances científicos y técnicos que tienen lugar a principios del siglo XXI. Centra su atención en el transhumanismo y sus planteamientos y propuestas, diferenciando tres de sus tendencias. Analiza sus propuestas éticas sociales y las compara con las propuestas de los Derechos Humanos.
