As a consequence of the latest scientific findings, stimulating discussions have emerged in the national scientific scene on the use of animals in the area of research and teaching. This field, which has considerably developed at the international stage within Bioethics, is promoting important reflections on the theme. The great value of such a development is that it has lead us to a very important reflection: the one regarding our use of non-human animals and the research for ethically appropriate attitudes in this context. The ethical theories related to animals and scientific findings are the foundations of our vision and they need to be strengthened and implemented.Como consecuencia de los últimos descubrimientos científicos, discusiones muy estimulantes, han emergido en la escena científica nacional, respecto al uso de los animales en la experimentación y en la enseñanza. Esta materia, que se ha desarrollado considerablemente a nivel internacional junto con la Bioética, está provocando importantes reflexiones sobre el tema. El gran valor de dales desarrollos, nos ha llevado a realizar una importante reflexión: aquella acerca del uso de los animales no humanos y la investigación por actitudes éticamente apropiadas en este contexto. Las teorías éticas, relacionadas con los animales y los descubrimientos científicos, son las bases de nuestra visión y ellas necesitan ser reforzadas e implementadas.
