The purpose of the control of constitutionality, by and large recognized as the most important legal instrument to safeguard the rule of law, is to evaluate the conformity of acts of authority and inferior norms with the Constitution. This article only addresses the provisions of the Mexican legal system on the judicial control of the constitutionality of the law. To achieve this objective, an explanation of the control system of constitutionality currently in operation in Mexico is offered to reflect, from the perspective of the theory of constitutional law and the law in force, on the means and the parameter of control of the constitutionality of the law, as well as the legal effects of the declaration of unconstitutionality.El control de constitucionalidad, reconocido en general como el medio jurídico más importante de salvaguarda del Estado de derecho, tiene como finalidad evaluar la conformidad de los actos de autoridad y de las normas inferiores con la Constitución. En este artículo, se aborda solamente en relación con lo previsto en el sistema jurídico mexicano sobre el control judicial de la constitucionalidad de la ley. Para lograr dicho objetivo, se ofrece una explicación del sistema de control de la constitucionalidad, actualmente operante en México, para reflexionar, desde la perspectiva de la teoría del derecho constitucional y el derecho vigente, sobre los medios y el parámetro de control de la constitucionalidad de la ley, así como los efectos jurídicos de la declaración de inconstitucionalidad.
