Environmental supervising functions of the Republic’s General Comptroller’s Office are reviewed, especially in terms of the regulatory frame stipulated in the Environmental General Bases Law, Nº 19,300, as regards the constitutional and legislative review of the law. Before addressing the above, some general references are made to the various functions of the Comptroller’s Office and to its environmental supervising policies, including in situ supervising work. It is concluded that, up to date, after 10 years the Environmental General Bases Law was put into effect, the Comptroller’s Office has actively participated in the interpretation, applicability, and supervising of environmental affairs.Se revisan las funciones fiscalizadoras en materias ambientales que corresponden a la Contraloría General de la República, especialmente bajo el marco normativo dado por la Ley de Bases Generales del medio ambiente, N° 19.300 en relación con el trámite de toma de razón. antes de entrar en ese tema, se hacen algunas referencias generales a las diversas funciones de la Contraloría y a su política de fiscalización ambiental, incluida la labor de fiscalización en terreno. Se concluye que, hasta la fecha, a más de 10 años de la entrada en vigencia de la LBGma, la Contraloría ha participado activamente en la interpretación, aplicación y fiscalización de las materias medio ambientales.
