The relationships between the frontier of Casilla and Granada, were marked by the constant disputes typical of the two societies in conflict. However, and in light of the documentary evidence, it is possible to affirm that real will existed to establish peace at the frontier. This would explain the effort to sign truces, which were applied during great part of the XIIIth to XVth Century. These followed a predetermined model and their aim was to establish the discontinuance of hostilities. All in all, their real value was many times undervalued and many times not taken into consideration, generating confrontations and disputes in the complex frontier scenario. Las relaciones entre la frontera de Castilla y Granada estuvieron marcadas por las constantes escaramuzas propias de dos sociedades en conflicto. Sin embargo, y a la luz de la evidencia documental, es posible afirmar que existió una real voluntad de establecer condiciones de paz a nivel fronterizo. Lo anterior explicaría el esfuerzo por firmar treguas, que se aplicaron durante gran parte de los siglos XIII al XV. Éstas seguían un modelo predeterminado y tenían como finalidad establecer el sobreseimiento de las hostilidades. Con todo, muchas veces su real valor fue infravalorado y muchas veces obviadas, generando enfrentamientos y disputas en el complejo escenario fronterizo.
