This article attempts to discuss, especially from the generalization of Roman citizenship in 212 A. D., the issue of whether there was coexistence between the Roman law and the local laws of the provinces or whether the Roman law was the only, mandatory and integrating law throughout the Empire to the detriment of local laws.El artículo tiene como propósitos discutir, sobre todo a partir de la generalización de la ciudadanía romana en el 212 d. C., el problema de si hubo coexistencia entre el derecho romano y los derechos locales de las provincias, o si aquél llegó a ser único, obligatorio e integrador en todo el Imperio, en desmedro de los locales.
