On the other hand, the author argues that such credibility can only be obtained whenever the government implements an integral and coherent policy of protection to the human rights. Firstly, the author refers to the credibility crisis that is being experienced in most parts of the world in the relationship society-government. Secondly, the author shows how intellectual currents as different as natural law and positivism, coincide in that the acceptance and trust of individuals in their governments, are necessary for the legitimacy of political power. DescriptionNúmero 116Mayo - Agosto 2006Nueva Serie Año XXXIXISSN 0041 8633 DERECHOS HUMANOS Y CREDIBILIDAD POLÍTICA Eva Leticia ORDUÑA TRUJILLO * Aquí se intenta demostrar, por una parte, que la credibilidad que obtenga un gobierno de sus ciudadanos es un elemento imprescindible para lograr la cohesión social y la fortaleza del Estado, y por la otra, que esta credibilidad sólo puede ser obtenida con una política integral y coherente de protección a los derechos humanos. En primera instancia, se hace referencia a la crisis de credibilidad que se vive en el mundo por parte de la sociedad hacia sus gobiernos. Posteriormente, se contrastan corrientes como el iusnaturalismo y el iuspositivismo, tratando de demostrar que incluso corrientes de pensamiento tan opuestas contemplan como indispensable para la legitimación del poder político, la aceptación y la confianza de los individuos.
