DÍAZ MÜLLER * The goal of this article is to analyze the debate on the principle of uni-versal jurisdiction in the context of globali-zation, a debate that has re-emerged since the Pinochet case. In the first place, the author explains the origins and current meaning of the concept of "globalization". Secondly, the author discusses the subject of the "globali-zation of justice", clearly connected to the principle of universal jurisdiction. Thirdly, he examines the different crimes against huma-nity, among of which the crime of genocide is included. Fourthly, he discusses the concept and elements of the principle of universal jurisdiction, as well as its regulation in In-ternational Public Law. Lastly, he examines the Pinochet case, aiming at studying the way in which such principle can be applied against persons accused for crimes against humanity. DÍAZ MÜLLER * El presente trabajo tiene por objeto analizar el principio de la jurisdicción universal en el contexto de la globalización, cuyo debate ha resurgido con el caso Pinochet. En primer lugar, el autor explica los orígenes de la globalización y su concepción actual, para después tratar el tema de la globalización de la justicia en la que cobra sentido el principio de la jurisdicción universal. En segundo lugar, realiza un estudio de los crímenes contra la humanidad, entre los que destaca el crimen de genocidio. En tercer lugar, expone el concepto y elementos del principio de jurisdicción universal, así como su regulación en el derecho internacional público. Finalmente, presenta el caso Pinochet con el objeto de analizar la aplicación del mencionado principio en contra de personas acusadas de crímenes contra la humanidad.
