DescriptionSome people say that entrepreneurial initiatives of a voluntary nature are ineffective because they are exempt from legal and institutional control. However, in the present work it is argued that, based on the integrative and ethical theories on corporate social responsibility, the protection of human rights can be favored through this management tool. Then, the alternatives in terms of corporate social responsibility that companies committed to human rights and sustainable development have at hand are explored. Finally, taking into consideration some reports that document the business response during the COVID-19 crisis in Spain, the usefulness of corporate social responsibility in the protection of human rights is highlighted.en-US
DescriptionSuele decirse que las iniciativas empresariales de naturaleza voluntaria son inefectivas porque están exentas de control jurídico e institucional. Sin embargo, en el presente trabajo se sostiene que a partir de las teorías integradoras y éticas sobre la responsabilidad social corporativa, se puede favorecer la protección de los derechos humanos a través de esta herramienta de gestión. Luego, se exploran las alternativas en materia de responsabilidad social corporativa que tienen a la mano las empresas comprometidas con los derechos humanos y el desarrollo sostenible. Finalmente, tomando en consideración algunos informes que documentan la respuesta empresarial durante la crisis del COVID-19 en España, se pone en evidencia la utilidad de la responsabilidad social corporativa en la protección de los derechos humanos.es-ES
