DescriptionIn this article we intend to point out aspects not much known of the intellectual antecedents of this member of the Generation of the 37. Also, we systematize his contributions according to a current methodology. Echeverría and his ideas seem to justify that, at first time, the nationalities are glimpsed by the poets and writers, then, impelled by the political minorities and finally, accepted by the peoples. The principles of Echeverría and of other men of his time, gave sustenance to the fragile seeds of a State that would consolidate half century later, trying to put those ideas. into practice, at least partly. The present work has based on a conference celebrated in the Argentinian Council for the International Relations (CARI) several years ago, but th is institution didn't publish it, so I consider that the time passed enables its current edition, which has been lightly renovated, and the notes and references has been put in orden thanks to the kind collaboration of Luciana B. DescriptionEn este articulo nos proponemos reseñar aspectos poco conocidos de los antecedentes intelectuales de este miembro de la Generación del 37. Asimismo, sistematizaremos sus aportes conforme a una metodología actual.Echeverría y sus ideas parecen justificar aquello de que las nacionalidades primero son vislumbradas por los poetas y escritores, luego impulsadas por las minorías políticas y finalmente, aceptadas por los pueblos. Los principios echeverrianos y de otros hombres de su tiempo, dieron sustento a los frágiles simientes de un Estado que se consolidaría medio siglo después, intentando poner en practica al menos en parte, aquellas ideas.El presente trabajo esta basado en una conferencia efectuada hace años en el Consejo Argentino para las Relaciones Internacionales (CARI), que, sin embargo, esta institución no publicó, por lo cual considero que el tiempo transcurrido habilita su edición actual, la cual ha sido ligeramente remozada, puestas en orden las notas, referencias y demás gracias a la gentil colaboración de la Mag.
