| Description | This article offers a reading of the conception of Man according to Spinoza, as belonging to the tradition of democratic thought, by considering his theological assumptions. The article argues against Carl Schmitt’s thesis according to which there are only two notions about Human Nature: the pessimistic and the optimistic one.
