This article seeks to demonstrate the political scope of language. Thus, for the author, society codifies and transmits experiences through language; and this implies that it is a system of categories that legitimizes the social practice of a community. For a better understanding, the author relies on some conceptions about justice, and in this way, he mentions the goddesses of justice, Themis and Iustitia, and the modifications they had throughout history. These modifications would indicate differences in the way of understanding and establishing intersubjective relations between ancient and modern societies. For this reason, the author points out that language not only communicates the identity of a people, but is also a necessary condition for a more just social order, since the lack of coexistence between the mother tongue and the practical reality translates into a violation of the rights of those who do not speak the predominant language.En el presente artículo se pretende demostrar los alcances políticos del lenguaje. De esta manera, para el autor, la sociedad codifica y transmite experiencias a través del lenguaje; y esto implica que se trata de un sistema de categorías que legitima la práctica social de una comunidad. Para una mejor comprensión, el autor se apoya en algunas concepciones sobre la justicia, y de esta forma, menciona a las diosas de la justicia, Themis e Iustitia, y las modificaciones que tuvieron a lo largo de la historia. Estas modificaciones indicarían diferencias en la forma de comprender y establecer relaciones intersubjetivas entre las sociedades antiguas y las modernas. Por esta razón, el autor señala que el lenguaje no solo comunica la identidad de un pueblo, sino que también es una condición necesaria para un orden social más justo, pues la falta de coexistencia entre la lengua materna y la realidad práctica se traduce en una vulneración a los derechos de quienes no comporten la lengua predominante.
