BASES PARA LA HISTORIA CONSTITUCIONAL DEL PERÚ Domingo GARCÍA BELAUNDE History and Law, as academic disciplines, are two concepts that are related to each other. The link between them is the History of Law. In spite of the fact that this discipline is more historical than legal, still the law historian needs, besides his own historical education, a previous technical knowledge, which lets him understand the legal material he deals with. On the basis of these premises, the author of this essay makes a methodologycal proposal about the theoretical grounds on which the constitutional history of Peru should be based. El punto de enlace entre ellos es la historia del derecho. Sin embargo, esta disciplina más que jurídica, es histórica; pero el historiador del derecho necesita, aparte de su propia formación histórica, un previo entendimiento técnico que le permita entender el material jurídico que maneja. Con base en estas premisas, el autor realiza una propuesta de carácter metodológico sobre la fundamentación teórica en que debe sustentarse la historia constitucional de Perú, necesitada, según el autor, de una revisión que modernice su andamiaje conceptual.
