DescriptionBased on “law and film” technique, the essay shows an adequacy between the film “Manderlay”and the modern law with its main trend in Latin America. In this order of ideas, is raised an stratagemin which the prevailing rationality in the modern legal though and the character Grace of the referredmovie, correspond in image and likeness, establishing as discursive axis, the unintended consequences ofthe modern rational discourse. DescriptionPartiendo de la técnica derecho y cine el ensayo muestra una adecuación entre el film “Manderlay”y el derecho moderno con principal tendencia en América Latina. En este orden de ideas, seplantea una estratagema en la cual la racionalidad predominante en el pensamiento jurídico moderno yel personaje Grace de la película de referencia, corresponden en imagen y semejanza, estableciendo comoeje discursivo, las consecuencias no deseadas dentro del discurso racional moderno. El uso de esta técnicapermite dotar de un sentido revisionista a los estudios críticos del derecho, en el que al observar elcuestionamiento por las formas jurídicas, su proveniencia y la naturaleza de la sociedad que las adopta,intenta hacer presente lo no visto por otros puntos de vista, implicando a su vez un dialogo entre lo presentey lo ausentees-ES
