During the 16th and 17th centuries, slaves, like any other social group in the Viceroyalty of New Spain, also had encounters with the Holy Office of Inquisition. This paper analyzes, from a legal historical point of view, the crimes they commited and the penalties imposed, while secular and inquisitorial Law is exposed. On the subject: slavery, Inquisition, propositions, blasphemy, bigamy, simulation of crimes.Durante los siglos XVI y XVII, los esclavos, como cualquier otro grupo social en el Virreinato de Nueva España, también tuvieron encuentros con el Santo Oficio de la Inquisición. En este trabajo se analizan, desde un punto de vista histórico jurídico, los delitos que cometieron y las penas impuestas, al tiempo que se expone el derecho secular e inquisitorial.
