DescriptionEvery state in the United States of America has a complex web of laws protecting at least some animals from cruelty and neglect. Depending on the severity of the crime and other factors, state law may consider animal cruelty an infraction, a misdemeanor, or a felony. However, not all the animals receive the same treatment. Only time will tell if farm animals (or laboratory animals) will ever receive the same level of legal protection, for the same philosophical reasons, as our companion animals.en-US
DescriptionTodos los estados de los Estados Unidos de América disponen de una compleja red de leyes encaminadas a la protección de los algunos animales frente a la crueldad y al abandono. Dependiendo de la gravedad del delito y otros factores, la ley estatal puede considerar la crueldad hacia los animales como una infracción, un delito menor o un delito mayor. Sin embargo, no todos los animales reciben el mismo tratamiento. Sólo el tiempo dirá si los animales de granja (o animales de laboratorio) lleguen algún día a recibir el mismo nivel de protección legal, por las mismas razones filosóficas, que nuestros animales de compañía.es-ES
