Description​This article emphasises the importance of consumer protection and calls on all the groups and sectors involved to adopt a positive, active attitude in defence of consumer rigths. Although the government has recently implemented important reforms in this area, existing legislation still needs to be perfected and swift mechanisms introduced that enable the consumer to effectively and efficiently defend his interests. On this point the authoress suggests a number of possible courses of action for suppliers, non-profitable private organizations –among which the important work being done by universities plays a leading role- and for the consumers themselves.en-US
DescriptionEste artículo destaca la importancia del tema de la protección al consumidor y hace un llamado a todos los grupos y sectores involucrados para que tomen una actitud de positivo activismo en defensa de los derechos del consumidor. Si bien el Estado Peruano ha emprendido recientes e importantes reformas en este sentido, aún hace falta perfeccionar la legislación actual y proveer mecanismos ágiles que permitan al consumidor ejercer efectiva y eficientemente su defensa. En este sentido, la autora sugiere algunas líneas de acción que podrían ser emprendidas por los proveedores, por las organizaciones privadas no lucrativas –entre las que destaca la importante labor que concierne a las universidades- y por los mismos consumidoreses-ES
