| Description | This research note updates earlier work that focused on electoral behavior among the urban poor in Lima, Perú. The previous research stopped with the 1983 municipal elections. The data utüized here extend the analysis through the 1985 presidential election and the 1986 municipal election. The results largely reinforce the hypotheses originally proposed for explaining the observed vascillating support for the left by low-income urban voters. | en-US |
| Description | En esta nota de investigación el autor actualiza su trabajo anterior que se centró en el comportamiento electoral de los pobres urbanos de la ciudad de Lima. Dicha investigación se detenia en las elecciones municipales de 1983. La información aquí utilizada amplia el análisis hasta las elecciones presidenciales de 1985 y las municipales de 1986. Los resultados refuerzan considerablemente las hipótesis originalmente propuestas para explicar el vacilante apoyo a la izquierda observado entre el electorado urbano pobre. | es-ES |
