The International Law of Human Rights extends and projects itself in the different areas of the internal Law within the States. In this sense, America has done her, and has added herself to the systems of the protection of Human Rights —which conforms the International Law of Human Rights— in harmony to the interests of the international community and at the same time in accordance with her own principles and circumstances. That is how OAS, civil society, ombudsman, public defender, academy, social communicators, free professionals, victims, and the Inter American Commission and the Court on Human Rights converge diligences and convert themselves in protagonists of the system and agents of its development and effectiveness. The reader will find in this article a general panorama of the present Interamerican system, through a clear and brief exposition about its actors and the function that they perform; the normative, administrative and jurisdictional attributions of the Interamerican Court, some of the transcendental subjects that it has dealt within its jurisdiction; as the treatment of the meanings and a reflexion about the future of the Interamerican jurisdiction.El derecho internacional de los derechos humanos trasciende y se proyecta en las distintas áreas del derecho interno de los Estados. En este sentido, América ha hecho lo suyo y se ha sumado a los sistemas de protección de los derechos humanos —que conforman el derecho internacional de los derechos humanos—, en armonía con los afanes de la comunidad internacional y a su vez acorde con sus propios principios y circunstancias. Es así como los Estados, la OEA, la sociedad civil, el ombudsman, la defensoría pública, la academia, los comunicadores sociales. Las profesiones libres, la víctima, la Comisión y la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos, convergen diligentes, y se convierten todos ellos en protagonistas del sistema y agentes de su desarrollo y eficacia. El lector encontrará en este artículo un programa general del actual sistema interamericano, a través de una clara y sucinta exposición sobre actores y el papel que desempeñan; las atribuciones normativas, administrativas y jurisdiccionales de la Corte Interamericana, algunos de los temas trascendentes que ha tratado a través de su jurisprudencia; así como el tratamiento de las reparaciones y una reflexión sobre el futuro de la jurisdicción interamericana.
