This article addresses the juridical implications of the case narrated by St. Augustine in his de sermone domini in monte 1, 16, 50, concerning fornicatio, in which a woman -married to a man from whom the Governor of Antioch, Septimius Acindynus, peremptorily demanded some fiscal debt under death threat-had, with her husband's consent, sexual intercourse with a rich man, who volunteered to give the money for the payment of the debt in exchange of said intercourse; however, he later deceived her by giving her land, which the woman denounced. This led the governor to sentence himself to pay the money because he had found himself guilty and stipulated that the woman should possess the farm from which the land, with which she had been deceived, had been taken.Se estudian en este artículo las implicancias jurídicas del caso narrado por San Agustín, en su de sermone domini in monte 1, 16, 50, a propósito de la fornicatio, consistente en que la mujer casada con un hombre al cual el gobernador de Antioquía, Septimius Acindynus, exigía perentoriamente cierta deuda fiscal bajo amenaza de muerte, con el consentimiento de su marido, tuvo trato carnal con un rico individuo, que se ofreció a dar el dinero para el pago de la deuda a cambio del dicho trato, pero luego la engañó entregándole tierra, ante lo cual la mujer denunció públicamente el hecho, lo que indujo al gobernador a condenarse a sí mismo al pago del dinero adeudado, al considerarse culpable del entuerto producido, y a disponer que la mujer entrase en posesión de la finca de la cual había sido tomada la tierra con que se la engañó.
