This paper aims to study the importance of procedural information to make decisions in judicial public policies in Peru and focuses on the existing perceptions on the procedural burden, the myths that feed the perceptions, the reality underlying the perceptions and the true sources of the procedural burden, all within the framework of the existing information on the Peruvian procedural burden. In the first part, the importance of information on the procedural burden and the relevance of its study is highlighted. Followed by this, the myths about the procedural burden and its consequences are developed and, finally, aspects that generate the procedural burden are identified in order that this information contributes to make appropriate decisions on the subject and increases the judicial efficiency. The theme developed in the work is highly innovative because it takes current information about the Peruvian procedural burden and, as a result, confirms or dismisses society's perceptions of the procedural burden. Along with this, it is a very original work because investigate a topic that is not developed or deepened in the Peruvian legal literature. Finally, it investigates an issue that, although it is not strictly legal, has repercussions in the legal field because it affects the correct judicial functioning and, as a result, affects the work of legal operators and the adequate protection of the rights of the people.Este trabajo pretende estudiar la importancia de la información sobre la carga procesal para tomar decisiones en políticas públicas judiciales en el Perú y se enfocará en las percepciones existentes sobre la carga procesal, los mitos que alimentan dichas percepciones, la realidad subyacente a las percepciones y las verdaderas fuentes de la carga procesal, todo ello en el marco de las cifras existentes sobre la carga procesal peruana. En la primera parte se resalta la importancia de la información acerca de carga procesal y la relevancia de su estudio. Seguido de ello, se desarrollan los mitos acerca de la carga procesal y las consecuencias que conlleva ésta y, finalmente, se identifican aspectos que generan la carga procesal con el fin de que ésta información contribuya a tomar decisiones adecuadas sobre el tema y se incremente la eficiencia judicial. El tema desarrollado en el trabajo es sumamente innovador ya que toma información actualizada acerca de la carga procesal peruana y, a partir de ello, va confirmando o descartando percepciones de la sociedad acerca de la carga procesal. Junto con ello, es un trabajo muy original al investigar sobre un tema que no es desarrollado ni profundizado actualmente en la literatura jurídica peruana. Finalmente, investiga un tema que a pesar de no ser estrictamente jurídico, tiene repercusiones en el ámbito jurídico ya que afecta el correcto funcionamiento judicial y, con ello, repercute en la labor de los operadores jurídicos y en la adecuada protección de los derechos de la población.
