The objective of this article is to analyze the background and foundations that support the exercise of the Peruvian maritime domain up to 200 miles. In doing so, the bases of the maritime sovereignty proclaimed by Peru will be examined and contrasted with the different international positions that have emerged on the subject. This will allow for the exposition of the concept of maritime jurisdiction defended by Peru.El objetivo del presente trabajo es llevar a cabo un análisis de los antecedentes y fundamentos que respaldan el ejercicio del dominio marítimo peruano de hasta las 200 millas. Para ello, se examina los fundamentos de la soberanía marítima proclamadas por el Perú, contrastándola con las diversas posturas internacionales que han surgido en torno al tema. Esto permitirá exponer el concepto de dominio marítimo que defiende el Perú.
